Expect 4-5 responses even if you’ve told the person to fuck off. Imagine how stupid I felt after writing a long winded email about myself and it wasn’t even going to a real girl. Tread carefully and never pull out your credit card. The worst part of the whole process is that it’s completely automated on the scammers end. You’ll send an email and a program will continuously send you replies of different variations, trying to get you to hit the site and make the payment. Craigslist seems to be known for its Casual Encounters section almost as much as, or if not more than, its non-sex-related areas. You are asked to enter your credit card info for ‘age verification’. But when you click to process the transaction you get a screen that says your credit card is no good for age verification… an obvious phishing scam. Also, the person’s name on the email I got does not match the one on the verification site. When someone visits a site that they have been given a link to, the scammer wants you to enter in some information, such as a Credit Card, once this has been done, your suppose to be able to see more information about the person. The thing with these sites, they will have fake Seal logo’s and Media logo’s. It is always a red flag when someone asks for your credit card number when you are not buying anything or what you are “buying” is free. How can I tell if an ad is placed by a scammer?
