I knew it was a con and my suspicions were confirmed once I got a reply from a craigs list girl with an identical picture but a different name on her sign. When someone visits a site that they have been given a link to, the scammer wants you to enter in some information, such as a Credit Card, once this has been done, your suppose to be able to see more information about the person. The thing with these sites, they will have fake Seal logo’s and Media logo’s. This site is used to rip off guys who believe they are getting verified, which is not the case. There is nothing in a credit card number that can verify anyone’s age – that’s why you can’t use a credit card as proof to buy alcohol in stores or get into bars. They say it’s for Verification or Background Check. I never do this, as I’m immediately suspicious of anything that wants me to put in my credit card number (Honestly, I’m suspicious of being asked to sign up on any external site). Why should my interaction with someone on Craigslist involve me registering on any other site? Expect 4-5 responses even if you’ve told the person to fuck off.
